Walk It Out

It is easy to tell someone else how they should “walk in a pair of shoes” that they have never tried on themselves-therefore it can never be known what it takes for some to put one foot in front of the other each day and walk…some things are just easier said than done.

Iron

I keep hearing that the strong have to bear the infirmities of the weak, but even iron that is left in the fire too long starts to bend.

Thank You

I have thoroughly learned the importance of having an enemy. Thank you for every lie that was told and for the lies that you continue to tell. I even thank you for the spirit of division that was cast and for the remnants that are still scattered. Thank you for every person you brought into your web of deception but was made to believe that I was the spider. Thank you for every laugh and giggle projected at my pain. Thank you for doubting the validity of my walk with God. Thank you for every word that you spoke against God’s purpose for me. Without resistance, strength is seldom gained…. and really, I just want to say… thank you.

He Is Always With Us

Psalm 139

You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
Amen.

The Real Problem

I used to live here for a long time.   I have learned the hard way that you can be completely right about something but also be completely wrong by how you respond to the mess. At the end of the day after the explosion you are left with fingers pointing at you. “Awww, did you see what she did?”, “Did you see how she looked?”, “What’s wrong with her?” , “Ewww, she got problems”. The real problem never gets dealt with when you become a by-product of the problem. It is easier to point at the weeds than to deal with the roots.

Three Is A Crowd

I met a woman at a conference this week who is dealing with her husband’s best friend….who happens to be a female.  She is convinced that the best friend is still in love with her husband.  They were friends several years before they ever met and fell in love and during the course of them being friends she made it known to him that she wanted more than just their friendship, but nothing ever came of it so they continued being friends.

Now…..as a woman, any woman will tell you that most women are not designed this way – I don’t care how much they mask it  When a woman loves you, she loves you.  When her heart beats that special pitter patter that says “amore”, rarely does it change unless her heart has found a comparable home itself.   Okay, well that is my two cents- back to business –

This poor woman is contemplating divorce!!!!  She says her husband may not be physically cheating but he is emotionally absent with her but gives his heart hopes and dreams to this female best friend.   She says that this friend tried to be friends with her like she did all of his previous love interests, but became very nasty when she refused to share aspects of their relationship with her. She said the best friend is always there, she can rarely have a dinner without the bestie calling or her husband making conversation about his “friend”.

It sounds like the grits hit the pan when he wanted to give this woman a key to their house while they were on vacation.

This is what I am pondering….would the husband tolerate his wife having a male best friend as his?  Probably not.  I cannot think of one man who would be fine with his wife going to the movies with, giving a key to his house to, or constantly referring to her male best friend.  Her husband needs to think about how he would feel and then put himself in his wife’s shoes.

As for the female “friend”…..I sincerely doubt that this woman would tolerate the man in her life having a female best friend….so why does she feel that it is okay for her be in the role that she is in with someone’s husband.

Respect and boundaries….respect and boundaries……still pondering…..

Romans 8:38-39New International Version (NIV)

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Those Little Things

Sometimes the elephant in the room is not the biggest problem…  sometimes it is the people who are ignoring it,  sometimes it is smaller things, the things that are not seen that present the biggest problems.  Whatever it may be, ignoring it will never solve the problem.

Water Cycle

I wonder who touched, drank, or perhaps swam in the same water I drank today? A dinosaur, an ancient Indian, perhaps Jesus… the water cycle is truly amazing.

Labor of Love

I so completely love this song that is sung by Point of Grace.  This song paints such a vivid picture about Mary giving birth to Jesus.

I am so glad that Mary did not act a fool when the Angel came upon her and told her what was to come in the weeks and months ahead.  I am sure that she wasn’t completely thrilled, but with a yielded heart she walked out this magnificent purpose that God ordained especially for her.

The song speaks of Mary and Joseph, and then describes the baby in her womb as the …..

Maker of the Moon, the Author of the Faith, one that can make the mountains move…..wow this makes me wonder…. what I am holding in my spiritual womb that has yet to be birthed?  What are you holding dear friends that will affect your community, the nations, the world?    While it is an honor to be used of God, sometimes we are not completely thrilled, it is uncomfortable and  inconvenient.  Talk about inconvenient, Mary was to be married to Joseph and then boom!  She is pregnant.  Joseph probably looked at her crazy at first and you know how towns people are….creating a past that you were never even an active participant in and you have to live with the lies.  Ohhhh, but the grace that is bestowed by God!

Sometimes we don’t even think that we can do what we are being called to do.  The absolute truth is that you will not experience the grace until you start walking it out.  God’s grace is not active in our hesitancy, His grace becomes active when we begin to fulfill the purpose that He has laid before us.  He gives us the grace to do what he has purposed…..

Think…..what is your labor of love?
